A little bit about me
Proud mom of two amazing adult children and grandmother to a sweet toddler, I’m also a sister, daughter, and settler on these ancestral lands. I support new parents through postpartum doula care with a calm, affirming presence—helping you feel confident and cared for as you adjust to life after your baby arrives. My grandmother deeply shaped me, and I chose the “Nana” image intentionally: warm, steady, and reassuring as families adjust to juggling different demands and a revised rhythm at home with a newborn.
I bring optimism, 1,000+ hours of recent postpartum training and experience, strong community connections, and an evidence-based approach shaped by lived experience from both vaginal and cesarean births, mastitis and the wonders of La Leche support. I hold a B. Ed and taught K to University level students, and then achieved a Master’s in Adult Education with a specialization in health literacy. I’ve worked in leadership roles in education in Manitoba, and here at UVic, the Victoria Foundation, United Way, and Our Place Society. Originally from Winnipeg, I’ve called Victoria home since 2004. I’m fluent in French, speak beginner Spanish, and offer practical, plain-language support that helps families move from feeling overwhelmed to supported steadiness.
